The Arkoma Basin Oilfield Fishing Tournament began some 50 plus years ago. A handful of friends, who happened to all make a living from the oilfield business, spent a few days away from work fishing. Anytime a few men get together the competitive nature of the sportsman took over, thus the birth of the ABOFT (Arkoma Basin Oilfield Fishing Tournament).
Through the years the tournament has grown in size, scope, and ability to give back. The oilfield family works hard, plays hard and has a gigantic heart.
Over the past several years we have used the proceeds from the tournament to fund over $200,000 in special needs within the oilfield family and beyond. We have granted over 25 wishes, for our national sponsor Make-A-Wish, for children with life threatening medical conditions, to college funds for children of co-workers and military that have passed away, to helping out those in need when they need help the most, the ABOFT has stepped up.
Be proud of our accomplishments as a team. Do not dwell on the past, it is history. The future of this event is in front of us and the sky is the limit.read more
Early registration for the 2016 ABO Tournament began on January 1, 2016. The deadline for early registration was March 15, 2016.
Late registration entries will only be accepted at the tournament and are subject to the late registration fee per the Tournament Rules.
If you have previously won the over-all tournament in any of the existing bass, catfish, or crappie divisions, you are automatically entered into the “Jim Carter Memorial Masters Division“. If either team member has won a division, the team as a whole will be competing in the Masters Division.
It is the Committee’s hope that this change will renew interest and spark competition between all participants as we continue to support Make-A-Wish.read more
